Prox Dynamics Newsletter Q4-2012
PD-100 Nanocopter number 500 scheduled for delivery
The PD-100 nanocopter serial number 500 has made its virgin flight and are about to be shipped off to the customer at the end of 2012. A constant focus on industrialization of the PD-100 PRS has enabled a steady increase in production of systems and nanocopters every month, with an “all time high” in December this year. Transfer of tooling and expertise has been successful, and together with our partners, Prox Dynamics is proud to announce that the ramp-up in production has been a success.
We aim higher, and as the market matures for the NUAS technology Prox Dynamics has the plans ready and have gained experience to increase the production to meet the increasing demands for PD-100 PRS systems to the international professional market.
Prox Dynamics runner up for Engineering Achievement Award
Earlier this autumn Prox Dynamics was nominated as one of six candidates for this year’s “Best Engineering Achievement” for the development of the PD-100 Black Hornet PRS. With strong competition, in particular from the Oil and Gas Industry, Prox Dynamics came 2nd at the finals, after a decision made by an internal judgment panel. Despite the decision, the PD-100 PRS made a grand slam on the Popular Votes, receiving more than 40% of the total votes (!) “It has never felt better to be second best, the people are clearly with us!” says Prox Dynamics VP Sales & Marketing.
Prox Dynamics becomes a member of NADIC
Prox Dynamics has joined the Norwegian-American Defense/Homeland Security Industry Council (NADIC). New hires - Strengthening all Departments
Prox Dynamics is pleased to announce the employment of a VP Programs with broad experience from the Defense Industry. He comes from the position as program manager at Vinghøg AS, and Prox Dynamics is excited to be able to recruit this level of competence in a tough Norwegian job market. Furthermore Prox Dynamics has recruited a new System Capability Manager in the Sales & Marketing Department, to strengthen the sales team and increase the activities on the international market. The individual has broad operational military background from the UK Armed Forces, as well as other very relevant competence for the company. To strengthen the development team, two new R&D engineers will be joining us along with an Industrial Designer. Last but not least, we have strengthened the Prox team with an IT System Administrator.

Looking back on 2012 with a smile and proudness, entering 2013 with confidence and a thirst for achieving more
There is no doubt about it; 2012 has been the big “break though” for the PD-100 Black Hornet PRS to the international market. With the first system deployed for operations in May 2012, a number of subsequent deliveries have secured a stable running production line of the PD-100 Black Hornet PRS, with every system produced immediately being shipped out to our customers.
Prox Dynamics has achieved the most important milestone in the company’s history so far: getting the World’s first operational Nano RPAS “combat proven” in theatre. With the feedback we receive from the brave men and women in uniforms out there, we are humbled to acknowledge that our system today make a difference for the professionals using them, and saves lives by providing them with an immediate improved situational awareness in hostile and dangerous situations.
Now leaving 2012 and entering a new year, the team at Prox Dynamics have never been more committed to ensure the continuation; with more people committed to make enhancements for the system, new capabilities under development and a deeper understanding of the professional’s needs, coming directly from Operators in the field. All together this paves the ground for a focused and creative 2013, commitment from the team to do even better, with enhancements on existing products, new sensor capabilities, and new products in the pipeline.
The Prox Dynamics team grows every month with new members getting on board, where the idea that existing limits in technology are not obstacles but merely challenges and opportunities, where “making the impossible possible” is the leading vision for the company, growing as an entity to be reckoned with in the increasing industry of Unmanned Systems for the professional market. With that said Prox Dynamics wants to extent our thanks to all our supporters and partners during 2012, and to all the individuals and organizations who have backed us throughout the whole period from the start-up to where we are today; to all of you:
A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Sincerely,
Prox Dynamics CEO
